In a time where many of us are conducting business online, we think it’s important to put a face to a name. Our Staff Spotlight series will give you a little insight into the lives of our Nicholsons colleagues. Let’s find out a bit more about me this week – Marketing Manager, Cody Fookes.

What does your job entail?

I’m responsible for developing and implementing creative strategies to attract and nurture clients (prospective and current) through their legal journeys.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?

Build lasting relationships with your colleagues, superiors and clients. The stronger your network, the more enjoyable your career will be in the long run.

What’s the most exciting thing you are working on right now?

I’m investigating options for a new Client Relationship Management System (CRM) which will change the way that we manage our relationships.

What’s the best part of your job?

Developing new and innovative ways of targeting and engaging people.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

Nursing or midwifery.

What’s something that most people don’t know about you?

I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie. Before having my son, I would spend my weekends scuba diving, rock climbing, jet-skiing, mountain climbing or ticking items off my bucket list (skydiving, bungy jumping and canyoning to name a few).

How would your family and friends describe you in three words?

Loyal, adventurous and painstakingly organised.

What’s something you’re planning on doing in the next year that you’ve never done before?

Chardonnay tasting in Margaret River (assuming we can travel). Vasse Felix, Cullen Wines, Leeuwin Estate and Pierro – here I come!

What is your motto or personal mantra?

Try everything at least once.

What is one food that you cannot resist?

Chocolate. I have a terrible sweet tooth and have been known for eating entire family blocks in a single sitting.

If you could visit any place in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?

Kruger National Park in South Africa. I’ve always wanted to go on an African safari.
