Tips for video meetings
If you're planning to host or participate in a video conference - here is a good article with 22 tips for effective video presentations, which we ask you to consider. The tips include many practical things, like:
- Sit close to the screen. Your face should fill most of it.
- When you’re not talking, hit mute.
- Don’t sit with the window behind you. A little effort on lighting goes a very long way.
- Test the platform beforehand, especially if you are going to show slides.
Establish 'boundary-crossing' activities - physical and social indicators that you’ve transitioned from “home you” to “work you.”
Maintain temporal boundaries as much as possible - finding work-time budgets which function best for you,
Focus on your most important work - this is not the time for busy work; you should be devoting your energy to top-priority issues.
Realise that working all the time, even on your most important tasks, isn’t the answer.
